LeaderSHIP: Get on Board!

Picture a cruise ship in your mind. A gigantic cruise ship sounds exciting, right? Now think about the many, many workers involved in making this cruise ship appear as amazing as it does. They put countless hours of work into making everything happen and are required to have smiles on their faces for the entire time. The employees don’t think about themselves, but instead think of the enjoyment of the people on board.

Now, the Seymour High School Student Council invites you to get on board with us. We are going to work hard to make a difference not only on our “ship” but in the world. Be sure to pack open-mindedness, responsibility, and dedication in your luggage. They will come in handy on this journey of leadership. Be a risk taker and a decision maker, and you should stay enthusiastic about every opportunity on board.

This year we are excited to bring you LeaderSHIP: Get on Board!, the Region III Fall Summit. The ship will set sail on Friday, November 16th, 2012 at the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel in Appleton from 8:15 a.m. – 1:45 p.m. Seymour High School will be hosting the event this year and we can’t wait to see you on board!

The leadership conference will include an inspirational keynote speaker, a delicious lunch, and exciting sectionals! Each sectional will be led by local schools and are designed to improve the leadership in your school.

Please help host a sectional by contacting Staci Sievert (ssievert@seymour.k12.wi.us) at Seymour High by Friday, November 2nd.

Designed to benefit all members of a school’s leadership program, the geographical closeness of our Regional Summits, combined with the motivational content, the quality instruction, and the great ideas generated make it advantageous for every school to send representation, if not the whole council, to this unique event.

Each event contains core curriculum, coupled with the unique flavor of your school host. Highlights of every event include:

  • Ice-Breakers by Regional Officers & School Council Personnel
  • A Variety of Sectionals
  • Advisor Sessions
  • Keynote Speaker
  • Inspirational Closing Session
  • Lunch (of course!)

Look for more information from your Region III Officers after October 1st!
