State VP Asks: Do you have 37 Seconds?
Okay, cheesy greeting aside, as a regional committee we are very excited to share all of our summer and early fall planning efforts with you! We have been hard at work with getting our programs organized for the upcoming year. There are so many great opportunities for your councils to seize in the upcoming months and the dates are approaching soon so make sure to mark your calendars!
I have been involved with the WASC for six years and took advantage of every networking function my school and this association allowed. Each year has surprised me with its potential for change. I hope to actively instill the same hope into each person as everyone in this organization has instilled in me. This passion led me to the Region III Executive Committee and eventually on to the State Level where I am blessed to have been elected the SHS Vice President. There is no goal larger in my life than to be my best as a leader and person for all of you.
Take thirty-seven seconds right now to make a goal. I just did. This year is about whatever you settled on. Whether it be to pass that Algebra test, be nicer to your dog, or rescue the whales, it is important to you (after all, it did take you a whole thirty-seven seconds to prioritize). Find that passion because as I am slowly realizing this senior year, we don’t have much time to be superheroes. Everything comes to an end and it is up to us to lead with spirit and heart until it is time to sit down for another thirty-seven seconds.
So here’s to us. Making goals, seizing opportunities, and being he- roes if only for a moment. Use this year to grow. Use it to lead. Use it to fly.
Best,
Courtney Guc
State SHS Vice-President
& Region III SHS President
