Educating, Engaging, and Empowering Young Leaders in Wisconsin

Roger Chambers

1938 - 2024

It is with much sadness that we share with you the passing of Roger Chambers. A longtime educator, volunteer, and mentor, Roger served in myriad roles within the WASC for over 3 decades. His efforts included advising, coaching, and camp directing, and finally serving as the WASC Executive Director from 2000 – 2005, taking over after the retirement of his longtime colleague Don Larsen.

Roger had a servant’s heart and made it his life’s work to help others. The entirety of his professional career was spent teaching, training, and developing young people. He spent over 40 years in education, both in the public and non-profit sectors. Roger’s humility, kind spirit, and deep love for students created an incredible legacy for the WASC, and he is missed by those whose lives were touched most by his generosity and grace.

Roger was a crucial part of our summer leadership camp experience throughout the 90’s and early 2000’s, overseeing the most successful time in the organization’s history. To honor his service, the WASC has established the Roger Chambers Camp Scholarship Fund for upcoming summer camps. These scholarships will go to students across Wisconsin who have financial barriers to attending camp. Use the link below or visit www.wasc.org/donate and select Roger Chambers Camp Scholarship Fund if you would like to give in Roger’s memory.

100% of donations will be used to help give students a chance to attend camp.

You can find his obituary at www.roseberrys.com or through the link in our bio.
