Investment: $100 per school team (up to 10 participants, schools can register multiple teams) 

A brand new program to the WASC fall line-up and one engineered towards the challenges our new student officers will face. This unique program concept will bring together newly elected student officers from all across the country! This one day workshop will focus on fundamental skill sets that are vital for the success of our student officers and students in leadership roles.

Targeted Leadership Training for Student Leaders, Student Council, NHS, Advisors, and Educators – Including  the State Delegate Assembly & Day at the Capitol.

The Leadership Institute is a one day training program for middle level and high school leaders as they begin their school year. Students are divided by age level for their programming. The Institute offers three unique programs including officer and advisor training, National Honor Society workshops, and general leadership skills development training for all age and development levels.

Students and advisors participate in team building and goal setting activities, attend skill development breakouts, get inspired by great national speakers, connect and network with schools from across WI, and learn best practice on how to best serve the needs of their own school community.

The State Delegate Assembly (SDA) moves to the Leadership Institute, where student leaders will debate & pass resolutions to benefit Wisconsin’s schools. One student and one adult from WASC member schools are invited to represent their schools at these proceedings.

Event Dues:

WASC Member School Rate: $50 per participant + $60 school fee

Early Bird Rate:  $40 per participant

**Participant fee includes meals and materials; school fee covers the speakers’ fees.


Coming back in 2021

At the Madison WASC Elementary Leadership Institute, student leaders in grades 4, 5 & 6 have the opportunity to meet regional and state officers, interact with student leaders from across the state, and receive hands-on training at the Madison Children’s Museum! We are trilled to have our Regional Officers host this event.

The event focuses on student council structure, leadership traits, goal setting, communication, staff appreciation, project planning and diversity. We also have a special session for Advisors!

We look forward to seeing you in Madison!

Event Dues: $18 participant fee per participant + $40 school fee + $25 membership dues


9:00 am – Registration (just outside the Assembly Chambers of the State Capitol)

9:30 am– Opening Ceremony & Keynote Speaker

9:50 am– Sectional Explanation and Transition to the Madison Children’s Museum


11:40 am– Explore and Experience the Museum

12:00 pm – Lunch at the Museum or on the Capitol Lawn **Students will provide their own bagged lunch**

1:05 pm– Closing ceremony back at State Capitol

1:30 pm– Safe travels
