JULIE LIETZ

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Julie's WASC journey began as an 8th grade camp delegate and grew through roles as a student leader, advisor, volunteer, Collaborative Leadership Council Advisor, Board of Directors member, and Program Manager. Those experiences shaped her passion for student leadership and gave her a deep understanding of the people and programs that make the WASC special.

Julie brings more than 14 years of experience in education, including 14 years as a high school English teacher and 13 years as a Student Council advisor. Her professional experience also includes work with student programs, community organizations, and educational institutions. As Executive Director, Julie leads WASC’s programs, partnerships, and operations with a focus on strengthening the organization’s impact, expanding opportunities for student leaders, and building what’s next for WASC.

MARY SWINFORD

WASC OFFICE ASSISTANT

Mary has been active in the WASC for over a decade.  She has been a mom to students in the program, an active student council advisor, a member of both the Governing Board and the Executive Governing Board, and the Level 6 Camp Curriculum Director. Currently, she is serving as the WASC Office Assistant. 

She is a retired middle school science teacher from Green Bay, where she taught and advised the Student Council for over 20 years. She loves reading, golfing, and visiting her children and grandchildren in Wisconsin and the Twin Cities.

PHOEBE VODNIK

LEADERSHIP INTERN

Phoebe's involvement began as a WASC camp delegate in 7th grade. Since then, she has graduated from her title as delegate and, this summer, is serving her second year as the WASC Leadership Intern. While Phoebe is still completing her Business Administration degree at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, Phoebe is dedicated to fostering growth and success in all areas of the WASC. Among other things, this position will focus on strategic planning, event support, and marketing management.
